Established in 2012, Smith Family Dojo is the only martial arts school that teaches traditional Okinawan Kenpo Karate & Kobudo in Hope Mills, NC.
Sensei Kevin H. Smith is a 6th Degree Black Belt, Rokudan in Okinawa Kenpo Karate & Kobudo (weapons).  Mr. Smith has been actively training for over 29 years and is a student of Hanshi Larry Isaac (10th Degree Black Belt, JuDan) of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Sensei Smith is also a Lifetime Member of the Universal Martial Arts Association.

Sensei Kevin Smith’s primary goal is to develop future Black Belts, who are fit, both mentally and physically. Smith Family Dojo is not a "buy-a-belt" school. Rank is earned through hard work and dedication. Not only do we believe in having a strong body, but we also place great emphasis on having a strong mind. Sensei Smith understands the importance of a good education, and encourages his students to be their best!. His employment background includes working as an Analytical Chemist, and a Quality Assurance Officer prior to becoming a full-time Karate Instructor.

Smith Family Dojo is like a "tight-knit family," in fact; Smith Family Dojo was initially started out of the Smith Family's home garage, where Sensei trained his own kids along with some of the neighborhood children. Smith Family Dojo relocated to a commercial location back in March of 2014. At Smith Family Dojo, we promote healthy living, teach self-defense techniques, along with life skills. We encourage a strong educational foundation and family values; in addition to RESPECT for everyone, regardless of diversity.

Our convenient location serves all Cumberland County residents located in the; Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Hope Mills and  surrounding communities. Come see us today!
